Yesterday I invited Chayo and Jonathan to Skate Depot for roller skating. It was a lot of fun, except that I'm a very bad roller skater (yet I'm the one who has been a figure ice skater for 10 years). I fell down a lot and once accidentally a kid toppled over me when I was on the floor. Then there was this other time when I was feeling a little bit too confident and I feel really hard on my side. I have this gigantic blue and purple bruise on my thigh now... it looks just like the inside of a purple sweet potato. I can't sleep on my left side now because it's too painful.
I almost finished packing for move-in day. I was starting to feel a little sad when I was rolling up my clothes. I'm going to miss my raspberry pink room and I'm going to miss Pocket waiting for me to wake up in the morning. But my older cousin (who is a UCLA alumn!) sent me message saying that I won't miss a thing. XD (In a way, I know that she's right.)
Anyways, as I was packing, I found this piece of magic in my room. It's a quote that I ripped out from a Starbucks cup a long time ago when I was hanging with my friends. I had forgotten why it stood out to me and now I'm glad that I found it again... just in time!
Why are we inspired by another person's courage? Maybe because it gives us the sweet and genuine surprise of discovering some trace, at least, of the same courage in ourselves.
